end of school

i really thought that a mon-wed-fri preschool schedule would satisfy the energy needs of
this little fireball dressed in pink.

not so!

but preschool+playtime at the kids club at daddy's gym usually did the trick!

during the rainy season, the kids went through a major worm phase.

let me add that it was mainly girls who were the worm hunters.

it was always so hard to leave them behind, her little wormy friends would miss her!

"i spy with my little eyes..." shelby loved to take her turn dismissing everyone.

shelby LOVED this song about the animal food chain in the ocean, ending with a humongous whale. she taught it to cora and i just about keel over when they do it together.

if you ask shelby, boys can be SO annoying sometimes!

it's volcano in a bottle time! wear your prettiest dress shelby!

who doesn't love a green tornado?

i sorted buttons for a long time that day, it was quite relaxing.

during the last week of school the kids had a teddy bear picnic. shelby decided it was a teddy bear and penguin picnic and that she needed to wear her fanciest hat.

i volunteered to help on the last day of school. each classroom was made into a special activity and the kids rotated through them. one was an obstacle course and games, one was a post office, one was a restaurant, and outside they had a car wash (above). the kids were in heaven.

they each got to make a stepping stone too!

oh thank goodness, the last day that shelby had to put up with those silly boys.

shelby's classroom had a bunch of sensory bins to play with.

the gooey one was the favorite!

yuck!

goodbye goodbye to you and you and you.

those walking sticks have sure grown up this year! so has my big girl.

don't you love her rainbow nail polish?

when shelby had to write what she liked about miss vivian, she told me that "she tells the boys to be quiet and tells us not to run and to be good." hahaha! so true, she was more of the disciplinarian. miss vivian had three kids at home too, her oldest daughter graduated foothill with brett and a couple of the preschool parents secretly used her as a babysitter. her daughter was so great that they didn't tell anyone else!

photo bomber ryland!

miss devon was shelby's favorite reason to go to preschool. she loved seeing what color eyeshadow she would wear and always wanted to show her things and bring her pictures and presents. i usually had to make her do things for miss vivian too because i didn't want to hurt her feelings. but it was probably obvious how much shelby loved the great, patient, happy, all around awesome miss devon.

first year of school DONE!
