29 on the 29th

on the 28th we headed over for the annual beach house birthday visit.

gone. 

i brought what was left of the cookies from second Christmas with me, and shelby decided the best place to eat them was in a tent with grandma. 

and her sister too.

the baby loves chocolate. what can i say? i'm such a good mom you guys.

we hung out and i can't even remember what we did. maybe watched a movie? went in the hot tub? whatever we did, it was fun. 

the next morning shelby set the table for me! mom made chocolate chip pancakes.

then we shopped till we dropped while shelby stayed behind with the boys. it was their birthday present to me to not go golfing. 

anthropologie and ann taylor loft. my two faves. we got some good stuff!

then it was off to tarpy's, where richard decorated the table for me!

and i destroyed this amazing artichoke.

and this pear, walnut, and blue cheese salad, and then tried to eat a whole cow.

shelby just wanted bread. k thanks.

cora ann was a cutie and also enjoyed the bread and her sister's cheese pizza.

the special birthday dessert from the restaurant was blood orange sherbet with berries. perfect for my dad! he was happy to finish it for me.

scary alien baby eyes! everyone pitched in and helped watch cora so that i could eat. thanx guys.

shelby got a pink balloon. heaven for her. and then my dessert arrived. heaven for me!

warm brownie sundae with fudge and caramel and pecans.

the boys had fried banana sundaes. 

we all left happy!

as their tradition goes, the boys went birthday present shopping on my birthday. they are so cute.

trevor wrapped the gifts and they all decorated their cards. 

my mom was having a hard time with my request for no cake. i just wanted dessert at the restaurant and that's all. but before we opened presents, mom couldn't let me go without being sung to just one more time. it was the big 29 on the 29th after all! so candles on marshmallows it was!

my husband is ridiculous good at wrapping packages. he wrapped all the Christmas gifts as usual this year too. :) love him!

SO excited to finally see it! ryan gosling. shirtless. happy birthday to me! we watched it later that night while mom and dad put the girls in bed. :)

and what is this? oh man, cora is so excited again.

a modern family game! trevor had also gotten me the second season dvd. 

 

i love my family! they are so great. even when i give them no ideas of what to get me, they totally pull through and get me awesome gifts! my mom got me the scarf i am wearing along with some other darling things from anthropologie. and my dad made me a gift certificate for a family trip to disneyland! i wanted to get in the car and go immediately. but we are going to try to wait until cora is walking because that will make things so much easier.

here's to the last year of my 20's!
