the day after Christmas we went out on a hexbug search! we wanted more, and shelby agreed. hooray for kids presents that parents end up playing with! the gift was truly fun for the whole family! target was completely sold out, but if you just search google, it will tell you which stores close to you have things in stock! love it. so off to toys r us, where they not only had them, but they had a PINK one!
she couldn't stop hugging them. they are like little robot pets.
daddy's the best.
for the second year in a row we have held 2nd Christmas here at our house with my parents and my brothers. it's the BEST tradition because Christmas gets to last a whole extra day! that sad feeling you get after the presents are opened on Christmas morning is no more because we know that 2nd Christmas is just around the corner! i made my family's favorite chocolate chip cookies, always with extra chocolate chips.
richard picked up round table, because after two nights of big dinners, all we wanted was pizza and a clean kitchen. seriously so perfect.
here we go again!
but first, the boys just wanted to relax on our luxurious couch. it may not look like much, but once you sit on it, the coziness swallows you up and you never want to move again.
while football was being watched mom and i caught up, since we went a whole day without being able to talk very much. :)
cora's first second Christmas!
what could it be? it was a little light up snowmen, which of course ended up being shelby's favorite toy. kids. seriously we could have just gotten her 3 flashlights for Christmas and she would have been in heaven. the kid loves lights.
mom and dad and the boys went to new york right after we went to hawaii, so some of the gifts were from fao shwartz and other nyc locations!
brrr. cold and festive! mom and dad saw the rockette's Christmas show, and the boys got to see some of their friends who live in the area. richard's best friend kate and her husband (whose name is richard too) live there and brett's best friend that is a girl goes to rutgers and they got to meet up too.
they also got to visit ground zero and said it was amazing.
but back to Christmas! here's the aftermath. shelby got new things for her kitchen, dolls, clothes, and a new animal lego set from her uncles! they even braved the lego store in the mall to get it!
she got a new princess sleeping bag too, but it was too small for richard. oh well.
cora ann got tickles, a walking toy from her uncles (which richard then put together, and it was an extra frustrating one so he deserves big points) new light up/musical toys for her to stand up and play with, it was awesome.
we got richard a shirt and pitcher that go along with one of his favorite shows, it's always sunny in philadelphia. trevor loves that too. i don't get it. but they don't get the appeal of the kardashians so i guess we don't always understand each other. brett got special shoelaces (not kidding) and socks that were these certain ones that the oregon football team wears and we (trevor) had to search all over the internet for. brett was stoked. we also got him a thing for running that tells him how far he has run and syncs up to his iphone. mom got the yearly calendar and i made a photo album of all the pictures from our hawaii trip. and i framed a few pictures, like the parrot one from hawaii and shelby's school picture. having kids are the best because pictures of them become presents! we gave some to my grandparents and curtis and kathi too! everybody loves them because my kids are so freaking cute. dad is so hard to buy for as always, so we got him a slushie maker thing from the as seen on tv store and another joke gift which was a golf mat that wraps around the toilet so you can putt while on the throne. dad was a good sport about it. :) trevor also remembered a book dad had wanted, so at least he got one gift he could use!
one of the many things i love about trevor is how thoughtful he is about getting gifts. he LOVES getting things for people that they will be excited about. he's the best.
well, we did it cora! your first Christmas is over! hope it was great!
