we LOVED the resort so much. with a huge balcony, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, family area, a kitchen, and a washer and dryer, we seriously contemplated moving in!
shelby the dancer was in quite the happy mood this morning and i just couldn't stop taking pictures of her moves!
cutie pie really mastered the fast crawl on this trip and also got some cute front teeth!
here were the views from our room.
here was mom and dad's room. they had three bedrooms, three bathrooms, full kitchen, and a big bbq that we never ended up using. their balcony wrapped all the way around the building. the views at sunset were fantastic. we loved looking at lanai and molokai too.
awake!
asleep.
mom took us girls to the hula grill, where the tables are in the sand, which meant shelby just wanted to play instead of eat. whatever! it's hawaii!
she only sat for her chocolate shake and fancy water.
after a little crawling, running, and shopping we headed back to the pool to get some use out of their new bathing suits!
over 3 years to grow just that much hair! poor cora.
we have a long way to go!
and where were the boys while all of this fun was happening? dad was doing some work, and the other four boys were scuba diving with cool guy brad-who was a living, breathing cliche! the super hot and tan scuba instructor with a classic old toyota truck who has lived all over the world and just loves life, man. the instructor also got punctured by something and an eel almost bit him. they said it was their best dive ever. later that week when they dove again they saw gigantic sea turtles the size of a king bed!
here are the boys under the sea!

shelby was so happy when daddy swam some with us.
we loved being the last ones by the pool. we had no problems adjusting to hawaii time. those poor east coast are up at the crack of dawn in hawaii!
on mike's last day he fell asleep in the sun and got a great burn/tan! he was so excited to go back to class at byu in a blizzard with a tan in december!
that's cora in that bundle of towels. the little cutie.
sunset time!
tourists!
we went to cheeseburger in paradise our first night, then ate at the resort a few times, but on mike's last night we went to the lahaina grill. it was fancy but also kid friendly! they had a lahaina grill bib for cora to keep and they kept bringing the girls special treats. the food was insane, like top chef stuff. we had to walk all of the lahaina waterfront afterwards! though we saved room for lappert's, the best ice cream in hawaii. richard's fave flavor was kauai pie (coffee ice cream, chocolate, macadamia nuts, toasted coconut) and mine was creamy and delicious pineapple coconut! with all the swimming we were doing the ice cream didn't even affect our girlish figures. :) mostly!

Love the post! I could go for a bowl of Richard's ice cream choice RIGHT NOW! Delicious!
I love the girls' new swimsuits. Cora's little ruffle bum was darling. I got the same monkey float for Scarlett when I met them in Tahoe last summer - she'll only swim with a "noo" (noodle) tho...silly girl.
And finally, you have to try scuba diving just once. If my mom can do it, anyone should at least try it!!! You'll never go back to snorkeling again. :)
Looks like you guys had such a great trip.
