the days in hawaii were a blur of fun in the sun. it wasn't blazing hot, so we
were happy that the pools were heated. the past few years we have rented
houses in hawaii, so it was fun to be at a resort and talk to people
from all over the country. shelby loved making new friends every day. many people
were from canada, escaping the cold below freezing weather. and a bunch
more were from the bay area just like us! one family that we met had two
boys the same age as our girls and they were so excited to hear cora's
name, because it is the name they are saving for a girl if they ever
have one, and they had never heard anyone else use it! fun! neither of
their boys had names from our "maybe if we have a boy" list, that would
have been crazy! at honua kai, there was a lazy river, waterfalls, super shallow
pools, a slide (which come to think of it, none of us went on) and an
awesome kids area with pebbles and a play area, hot tubs, and another
more conventional blue pool. most of our time was spent in the kid area.
i give the twilight actors in full makeup a run for their money. but hey, fewer wrinkles someday. hopefully! and i don't care what anyone says, i love my "i'm obviously a mom" hat. :)
look at that wind! while brett, dad, trevor, and mike were golfing, richard and mom were kind enough to hang out with me and the girls at the pool all day.
no maui trip would be complete without a post church trip to the hyatt to see the penguins!
what a cute grandpa! dad makes this all possible. :) love you!
trevor touched a koi fish and a penguin! such a rebel!
