maui aquarium!

the day we took mike to the airport was so beautiful and made him extra sad!

leaving his best friend brett was hard enough!

they are hilarious. and in a few short months they will be on their missions! such an exciting time!

after dropping off mike we went to costco and had lunch. yum! after eating fancy food we were all in the mood for some costco pizza.then we were off to the maui aquarium!

someone has to clean the tank! the scuba instructor from the hotel also worked at the aquarium doing things like this, but not the day we were there.

those are real fish! crazy, right?

the visit was technically for shelby, but we were all so happy to have an excuse to go!

SHARKS!!!!! shelby's new favorite shark is the black tip reef shark after this trip.

the hammerhead shark tank was pretty exciting. but we had no idea how many sharks were to come!

while we were there one of the employees/scientists/nerds came running out to point to some whales! you can just see the spout of water between the two masts on the right. it was very exciting because whale season had just started.

we were all very nervous for that guy in there! the sharks and sting rays were so big!

i think we could have stared into this tank all day

shelby (on the advice of her father) kept trying to touch this puffer fish. then she would pretend it bit her. an aquarium employee came up and said that this was not a good idea since they seriously do bite and he said it's very painful!

so shelby made sure to tell her dad,

no "chuching da-yad" which is how shelby says touching and she does the cutest thing with words like dad, mad, and sad and adds and extra syllable. it makes me and trevor smile every time we hear it! "that makes me very ma-yad da-yad!"

oh wow a sea turtle ride! fun! it was a great day.
