richard's 27th birthday!

cora partied hard at buffalo wild wings and had to rest during the second half of richard's party.

during fall we have a birthday bonanza, with a birthday every week. at least we have them spread out a bit. but it sure gets us thinking about Christmas shopping, because we don't want to use up all of our gift ideas on birthdays so close to december!

richard said to get a dinosaur cake because he knew shelby would love it. so true and so thoughtful. but baskin robbins only had fossil decorations and dead dinosaurs would have been scary. so i went with star wars. just cause.

shelby was oh so serious because we told her she couldn't blow out the candles until after we finished singing and that in fact it was richard's birthday.

she's so funny.

richard took extra precautions to protect his cake from shelby's lack of self control. 

looks like she is concentrating so hard on not helping.

lucky for shelby, richard needed extra help since they were trick candles! fun!

shelby does this all the time with cora. she sits a little ways from her and pats the ground and says, crawl to me cora, crawl to meee! you can do it cora! baby sister LOVES it.

besides regular ice cream cake we also tried out these little babies. mini ice cream cakes covered in chocolate. DELICIOUS. pralines and cream/vanilla cake, vanilla/vanilla, mint chocolate chip/chocolate, chocolate/chocolate.

richard has quite the helper here. cute niece and uncle.

he got clothes, xbox games, a new xbox, a yoga mat and dvd, and star wars legos. random assortment of gifts, but fun! he also traded his bmw in for a an audi, as a birthday present to himself. :)
