one of my favorite things about being a mom (so far!) is being a parent helper in shelby's preschool.the first time i helped out, i made sure to not take any pictures and just focus on helping and getting to know their routine. the parent helper is in charge of bringing snacks that day, which shelby LOVES. snacks are assigned a month ahead of time because of all the allergies. (remember the water allergy?)
october 21st 2011
it was great to see how shelby interacts with her classmates and teachers and also to find out what songs she has been singing. here they are singing about a pumpkin that grew and grew.
this one's about a spider! boo!
ever single day, shelby takes off her shoes within minutes of being outdoors.
there goes my little pony! down the slide!
look how fun, miss devin was the bridge that everyone had to go through. she has the most clever ideas for the kids. i am amazed by her energy, patience, and creativity.
miss vivian is great too, shelby loves sitting with her during class playtime, playing candy land or make "pizza" with play dough, or doing a project.
shelby and her friend anshika took turns taking pictures for a bit.
then it was back to playtime. here you can see anshika's hungry caterpillar name tag. they all have to wear their name tag every day.
mostly the girls and the boys stuck to different sides of the playground.
shelby likes to play on her own too.
a few weeks after this, their class started having outdoor time with the two other afternoon classes. so now the playground is PACKED with kids. both of the other classes are 4 year olds, so at first it was a little overwhelming for the kids, but it's been good for them to make new friends.
it's like miss devin has them under a spell. wow. little 3 year old ducklings all in a row.
no shoes shelby.
after they line up, miss devin takes out a little turtle called tiny tim. then she taps them on the head with tiny tim when it is their turn to go inside.
tiny tim is such a big deal.
she praises each of the kids for doing something good as she dismisses them one by one.
okay shelby, your turn!
then they find their seat and their "ticket" and read a story together.
and do a project.
after they finish their project they play with whichever special toys are out that day.
this song was a classic. 5 little ducks. so much fun!
