Our school has class on Wednseday before Thanksgiving, so the girls got to help get the turkey ready before going to school which they thought was very cool.
Here's Cora at her Friends Fruit Salad Feast. They could not have had a more perfect feast for my fruit loving girl. They even got whipped cream too! She talked about it for days. I also learned, after showing her this picture, that she knows the name of every single child in her class! Kids are so different, Shelby knew like 4 of the kids names in her class. But Cora loves remembering their names and also letting me know whenever anyone gets in trouble and exactly what they did and exactly what their punishment was and what the teacher said and it cracks me up! And if any of these "bad choices" involve pushing her or something, sorry kids she is never going to forget it and will remind me of it for always! Haha!
Cutest pilgrim ever!
a leaf? a pumpkin? good painting either way!
Shelby's scarecrow.
Turkey crafts with Grandma.
Shelby's feast. She tried turkey and liked it! (Not the actual first time, just the first time she remembers. So excited that she likes it now! She REALLY liked the pumpkin pie too!) No parents came to the party, but they sent us pictures which is all we really want anyway.
Setting the Thanksgiving table.
The question marks are for the baby, meaning she doesn't know her name yet!
Helping Daddy brine the Turkey. And yes, Cora is wearing the same clothes from the day before. I was pregnant and oh so tired and just didn't care what they wore to bed! She's such a cute sleepyhead!
While boys watch football, my girls and I made candy turkeys! So fun and yummy!
Turkey is ready!
Apptizers anyone?
Shelby made sure we all had hats!
Our favorite appetizers and our favorite so sleepy daddy! tryptophan attacks!
Still eating candy turkeys.
Playing with our pumpkins before we throw them away, today. It's a pet peeve of mine when people leave their pumpkins out past thanksgiving. Seriously it's january and in my neighborhood I see pumpkins on porches. It's like they never leave their house!
Anyway, we weren't leaving the house and the guys were getting ready to go the 49er game, so we took pictures in the beautiful sunshine.
Then, while we waited for Mom, Dad, Richard, and Brett to come and pick up the guys, we had a little football game of our own!
The 49ers lost the game, badly too, but they said it was still fun to go.
A beautiful day for some driveway decorating!
And look! Mom's new car that Daddy got her yesterday! Hooray! Now we can fit 3 car seats across in the back. Thought about a van for a second but just couldn't do it. Bye Highlander, Hello Big Lexus!
It's the medium Lexus SUV, not too big, not to small, say it...just right!
The Monday night before Thanksgiving, we made a Thankful turkey, though I forgot to turn the feathers the other way for half of them. Ha! But it was so fun to see what the girls said they were thankful for as we went in a circle as a family and each said something we were thankful for until all the feathers were gone.
Here's the menu. I was thankful that Trevor helped me at the store because I was too pregnant to push a full cart!
End of the day crafts and candy, including fruit turkeys!
So thankful for my family!
