Right before Thanksgiving, while Trevor was working late, Grandma surprised us and brought over groceries and the ingredients to make pizza for dinner! They loooove making pizzas with Grandma!
Heart shaped ones!
Sorta heart shaped. :)
And turkey cupcakes! Yum!
For the first time since I married Trevor, we got to go to my home for Thanksgiving! We drove over the night before and had fun playing with Uncle Richard, who is very scared of this game. Shelby thinks he's so funny! Trevor's parent met us in Lodi for Thanksgiving dinner, and then we drove to Reno after Thanksgiving and spent the weekend there.
Mars helped set the table while we...
watched the parade! It was so exciting to watch it with my mom again!
Shelby and Cora aren't morning people (like their dad) but making breakfast with Grandma helped!
Daddy was up getting the turkey ready with the fancy brine he made. So many ingredients!
Then Grandma made her morning smoothie, always too loud for miss Cora.
Who could be coming up the slide?
Run!
Roar! It's Uncle Richard!
My mom found the perfect sweaters for these two girls who are still in love with the fox song!
Our neighbors (who have family in South Carolina and Illinois) came to Thanksgiving in Lodi too!
Shelby was over the moon, but I think I may have been even more excited! We love the Waughs!
Reid and Blair came over to play too before their family dinner started! We love our cousins!
The weather report had forecasted rain up until 2 days before.
Instead the weather was perfectly warm and still and gorgeous.
The boys loved the dirt and wide open spaces!
Amazing job on the turkey as always Trevor!!!
I made the Pioneer Woman's potatoes-the one with cream cheese and heavy cream and a mountain of butter! Of course that meant they were fantastic! The recipe allows you to make them the day before which really helped because things got crazy right before we were going to eat.
Fun-crazy, but still crazy. The rest of the cousins came to say hi literally just as we were trying to get all the food out. Before it all got cold, they gave quick hugs and headed off to their own houses.
And these cuties got to work on coloring their Thanksgiving placemats and maybe eating a little jello and fruit. I don't know about other kids, but mine sure aren't that impressed by the Thanksgiving meal yet!
But we all chowed down. My favorite dish was the sweet potato casserole that Allison brought.
Sweet Southern goodness. My grandpa couldn't get enough of them either!
Crossfire will forever be the funnest. We've had it since I was like 8 years old and lived in San Jose!
Once my mom knew that Allison and her boys were coming, she ordered a boy car to go along with Shelby and Cora's pink Mustang. So nice of her! It was of course super adorable and hilarious to watch them all drive around!
If only they had headlights they would have driven around all night long.
Allison made me get in a picture! Ha! Those turkey legs just remind me of Disneyland!
The gym entertained the kids and the dads the rest of the night!
Connor is the cutest! The youngest of 4 boys-he's one tough cookie!
The "turkey balls" were a fun addition. Oriental trading gets us every time!
My mom set up a fabulous Thanksgiving themed treat area!
With a little 49ers thrown in for our favorite neighbors!
And our freshly made pies came from Phillips Farms as always. Here's my favorite-the walnut streusel topped-pumpkin pie! It was a great Thanksgiving!
