Birthday weekend

How we start most mornings...with a big bowl of cocoa krispies!
Who really wants to go to school on the day after Halloween? We were all missing preschool half days!

Oh hello Cora, are you wearing the build a bear hello kitty's sunglasses and holding treasures on a leftover stick from last night's edible arrangement? Why yes you are!

Time to play outside with the pumpkins! We had such fantastic weather that week.
After school I took the girls over to Grandma and Grandpa's where they spent the night so we could celebrate Trevor's birthday which was the next day. Trevor and I went to see Ender's Game, which was really good! I loved the book and in college I had dinner with the author and introduced him at a lecture. I'm sad it didn't do well enough for a sequel movie! After dinner we went out to eat late and felt super crazy being out by ourselves. The next morning Trevor was up early playing in a golf tournament at the country club, which he won of course!

My awesome mom got the girls all ready and fed and met me at Shelby's soccer practice! She was even early! She's magic, because I'm usually late and it's only 8 minutes from my house!

Run a little, have a treat, then run a bit more.
The age range for the team is 3-5, so obviously, the 5 year olds do everything and the 3 and 4 year olds mostly look like they wish their parents had let them stay home. These 3 girls ran the team. And specifically the one in the middle, with the cleats and shin guards-the only girl other than Shelby that even had cleats and shin guards!
Cora just wanted to play in the mud.

We only had two "games". And they were just with the other 3-5 group-they were co-ed and looked way younger than our big girls. They scored once. Figuring out which one was the correct goal was the main point of the game. By the next week they even figured out how to stand on their own side of the field!

Over there, okay? The ball goes over there!

After the ball hog on our team scored like 5 times (the other girl with the shin guards and cleats), Shelby finally got her turn and scored immediately!!!!!
Here it is...her first goal:
SO PROUD OF HERSELF!!!!!!!

good game, good game, good game, wait, what are we doing?

The pink girls were really gracious winners and Shelby was really excited to tell me about how she gave high fives to all the little kids.

After soccer, Shelby changed in the car, I wiped the mud off Cora's feet, and we headed to Sophia's birthday party! Since her bday was the same as Trevor's, Shelby was extra excited! Sophia is in her class and is a sweet girl and an only child.

Oh and there was a clown named Silly Ricky! He was great! I have no idea how he has so much patience!!! The kids looooved it, balloon animals, silly jokes, juggling, magic. So great.

Cora loves the kids in Shelby's class and they love her too. The little class mascot.

It was fun to see the kids out of their uniforms!

Scaring Mommy with the Halloween decorations is sooo fun!
After the party and after Daddy got back from his golf tournament, we met mom and dad at outback for a birthday dinner. Yum!

Then we had a little party. :)

I made Trevor's requested mud pie. Yes, it looks kinda crazy but it tasted amazing-Breyer's (the best) coffee ice cream mixed with crushed up skor bars (never heath!!) put into an oreo cookie crust with mrs. richardson's (that's a brand) hot fudge topping. mmmmmmmm.

Happy Birthday Honey!

Present time! My gift was a cool Ron Swanson shirt and Paddle Your Own Canoe, the book by Nick Offerman who plays Ron Swanson. Give me all the bacon and eggs that you have.
Somebody loves her daddy!!!!

Whew! What a week girls, amiright?
