On Easter, we made plans with the cousins to meet up at the beach house for a fun sleepover. Waiting 2 weeks for this trip was the hardest thing ever for miss Shelby. She packed a few days ahead of time and even decided to miss Disney day at preschool! (Wear and share something Disney. I think they planned it just for her!) Grandpa and Grandpa and Daddy and I all had to take our own car because somehow we ended up needing 4 cars over there! Trevor and Dad were playing in one day of a 4 day college golf tournament at Pasatiempo that Dad's company (Transamerica) was sponsoring. Dad flew in one of Brett's best friends Niccolo (next year he will start playing golf at ASU and will already be one of the top college golfers in the country) to play with them. They totally won! I forget which college won the tournament, but we can't wait until 2015 when Brett will be playing for SJSU there! The days after they played, the guys still went over and watched the teams play. Yawn. Back to the beach!
The girls and I enjoyed our mommy-daughters time before everyone else arrived.
We even ate pineapple-coconut ice cream on our new my little pony towels!
As an appetizer! We had our favorite Aptos Street BBQ for dinner. Mmmmm. Ribs.
Shelby and Cora finished the night in the jacuzzi with Daddy and Grandpa!
Oh Shelbyyyyyy, Grandma Cindy got a new camera!
Would you like to take a picture before we go to the boardwalk?
Sure!
Silly girl!
We're at the boardwalk! On a school day! In April! We were all too excited to look at the camera!
I was so excited to grab those rings and throw them in! It really is the best carousel.
Grandma can't pass up a water game. This one was called Stinky Feet. We won two turtles!
Dance girls! Dance!
Grandma is a ski-ball expert. Watch the master girls.
Cora was so determined to get those tickets back into the machine.
Shelby had to save them from her!
Why won't this thing ever work for me?
Shelby had "lots" of tickets! Fun! She got a couple bouncy balls or something.
The beach was pretty busy for a workday in April.
The sand was calling her name.
Her escape signaled that it was time to leave!
We took a short drive to check out all the surfers. So many! What a day.
Then we stopped at Marianne's. Bubble gum for the lady.
Rainbow for the little lady and mud pie for the mommas.
Back to the sand with you!
We got new furniture in March and we were so excited to use it!
Yay!
They are building a new house in that lot, but for now the view is awesome!
Hope it's a one story house! :)
I even spotted a pod of whales. Unusual for April.
Then, finally, the cousins arrived!!!!! The three gals stayed the night with us, while one of the boy cousins, his friend, and mom stayed at the other family beach house 7 minutes away, owned by my great uncle and aunt. The boys went and watched the tournament too since they play high school golf. There was something for everyone that weekend!
Sophie!
Jasmine!
Shelby splits!
\
This is going to be SO FUN!
Jasmine (5th grade) Sophie (9th grade) Tasha (7th grade)
They raced like pros. We did crafts, played, and just chatted. Then we had pizza and salads and waited for the boys to get home since Mom and I are too chicken to turn on the table fireplace.
(There is a propane tank underneath. Nifty!)
Yummy S'mores!
Rainbow Dash was loving her first sleepover almost as much as Shelby.
The girls went in the jacuzzi and then we tried to watch Wreck It Ralph, but everyone (except Shelby of course) fell asleep so they just went up to bed instead and we finished it the next day. I love that movie.
The next morning, we finished up our crafts. (Look! I was there too!) Mom made a fantastic breakfast as always. Her blueberry muffins are always a big hit!
Then it was beach time!
All smiles until that cold water gets you!
We sure love bright colors!
The girls love taking pictures, and I was more than happy to spend my time snapping away. Jasmine and Tasha are competitive cheerleaders and Sophie is on the track and cross country teams at school.
Go Jasmine!!!!
Poor Tasha had a little cold, but the warm sand and sun seemed to help.
So that's why there was still so much sand in her hair the next day!
I love these girls SO MUCH!
Out like a light! Also, Sophie, will you please come and live with us?
While Cora slept, the cousins packed up and left. Sad.
Another sleepover needs to happen ASAP!
What better way to end the weekend then a little clean-up.
Great job girls.
Uncle Nicollo! It was so great to see him! And we made sure to get a birthday picture with him too. Only 3 weeks until Brett's birthday!
