the day after thanksgiving we headed over to the hills of los gatos to cut down our own tree!
there were around 20 different tree farms to choose from. we went to one way at the top called four winds Christmas tree farm. it was a beautiful, warm, sunny day in California and we got a glimpse of how many people have traditions to come up and have a big party at the tree farm! it was so fun and festive. we listened to Christmas music and wore holiday colors.
let's get this one! ummm...
maybe in a decade this one will be ready, shelby!
my little golden haired girls, i sure love them.
as well as my handsome hubby's backside. so cute!
these buns too. love them!
it didn't look very big on the roof, but once we got it home,
I was so glad that we have a two story living room!
they are probably busy finding and eating buried fruit snacks. good times.
let's get this tree home!
we found a perfect spot for it.
what is better than making family memories at Christmas?!?
now let's decorate this thing!
let's get this tree home!
elf on the shelf liked it too!
oh, i almost forgot! that morning before we left, the elf made his first appearance. we read the book, watched the movie, named him barry, then he made a couple more appearances over the next few days and then lucky for him, he was completely off the hook! shelby could not have cared less about him. he was out of a job and got to head back to the north pole for some R&R until next year. those elf on the shelby pinterest ideas sure went unused this year! (yay! that elf is kinda annoying if you ask me.)
back to the tree. the girls played ring around the tree and were just adorable together.

now let's decorate this thing!
