fun-vember!

one big benefit of moving: getting more stuff from ikea!
i'm not sure who loves that place more, me or my kids.

it's a tie.

nov 2nd
for daddy's birthday, we putted around the living room and then had lunch at carl's jr.- daddy's favorite place to eat in the whole wide world. grandma kathi and grandpa curtis came to town to help celebrate!

we ate at "oj's" in downtown san jose.

it's delicious, old-school italian food. we love it. and we love daddy! happy birthday!
i took no other pictures of him on his birthday as a gift. :)

the girls needed a big bath after eating daddy's requested birthday ice cream sundaes.
"hey! were you looking at my butt? because you should. it's pretty cute."

 very busy "bubble cooking"

nothing makes cora happier than BUBBLES!
just saying the word makes her jump around, laugh and scream, and tear up the stairs.

later that birthday night, cora woke up with croup, yuck. curse that seal cough! it is so scary! so she and i had to take a long middle-of-the-night shower to steam her up and she was able to sleep for a bit. but the next day i was fried and she wasn't going anywhere, so me and my baby girl hung out at home while trevor, shelby, and trevor's parents visited the winchester mystery house!

shelby liked it and has drawn many "spooky houses" since.

trevor said it wasn't scary, but that it definitely could be at night!

there was lots of dress up involved when the grandparents come to visit.

daddy and grandpa even set up the fog machine,

turned off the lights, and then grandpa climbed the stairs to shine a spotlight
on shelby so she could dance. magical!

'sup, i'm rock star shelby.

would you like some doughnut with your sprinkles cora?

post-church snuggles anyone?

cora hates mondays.

these two went to the park with us and hurdled down every single slide.
when there aren't other kids to play with, these help us last a little longer at the park!

turkey time! we only lost one pumpkin decoration to the cora bug this year. not bad.

a daily random "picture for uncle brett! send it to him, momma!"

i sure love it when they entertain each other:

well, we tried to see signs everywhere telling us who was going to win the election. i pretended that that airplane was a shooting star, and a black squirrel was across the street from our house on election day. i've never seen a black squirrel before! trevor wasn't sure if it was a bad sign like a black cat or what....well, whatever, we were all hopeful about how things would turn out.

mom looked cute and patriotic and we all watched a bit of the coverage until the outcome became clear. i was way more sad than i thought i'd be! it took me a full day to recover. so sad for his family and my own. i sure loved the snl skit they did that next saturday. where was that nice, funny kind of skit before election day!? what a bummer.

this little display at preschool certainly brightened my outlook the next day. they are learning about heifer international this month and collecting coins and they even got to meet real farm animals.

preschool never tires shelby out, so sometimes we have to keep it going after school is over.
time for matching sister park time!

i love their racing stripes. everybody wins!

well, the park sure worked. now it was time to watch phineas and ferb with daddy!
