well, shelby's silly face says it all...brett's high school golf team won the northern california championship and then traveled to pasadena to compete against 5 other teams (3 norcal 3 socal) for the state championship. we got second place in the state of california by only 2 strokes. ugh. sad day. better than one stroke though! that would have hurt more. i got to meet trevor's high school golf coach, since his fresno high school, clovis west was also in the tournament. they didn't win either. dumb granite bay and dumb one round tournament! foothill was still by far the best team there.
i had the girls in foothill blue, but brett was understandably not in the mood for pictures!
well, at least half the team was able to still smile!
hey and look! it's beau hossler! he was second individually at the state tournament. it was so fun to see him do so well in the us open! he was in the group right behind brett.
while they were finishing up pictures and throwing their second place medals out of the car on the freeway, the rest of us found comfort in some in-n-out.
the only answer after a tough loss was to head straight to disneyland.
and maybe take a ride in the stroller. brett deserved it after the day he had!
let the "alisha, you and your camera are so annoying" looks begin!
miss shelby was very excited to be there, but decided she did NOT want to go on the pirates ride AT ALL, so she and i got to enjoy the fake new orleans scenery while everyone else sailed with captain jack.
check out shelby's new kicks! trevor was very concerned that i would put her in cute but uncomfortable shoes for the disney marathon of walking (valid concern!) and so he took her to the mall and picked out these awesome pink shoes. he's such a thoughtful daddy!
so after pirates we headed for the dumbo ride. the line is usually so long, so we were excited to only wait for 20 minutes. while we waited, the boys brought us the dole pineapple soft serve! that line was actually one of the longest in the park!
brett's best friend kortnie was with us too, and shelby ONLY wanted to ride with her, on everything!
so richard and i got to ride together, which we did the last time we were on dumbo-in 1999!
we're cute.
after dumbo we decided to do competitive boy vs. girl teacups. the cool guy in the hat is kevin, brett's personal golf coach who came along to help out the high school team. he's awesome and we love him! back in high school he also had the pleasure of throwing a second place state tournament medal out the window of a car. he said it's somewhere on I-5.
we really split boys and girls because us girls didn't want to get sick!
that is one full teacup! we were hysterical watching them spin that thing at top speeds.
then it was time for the parade! yay! grandma and i were on our own for this one though. :)
cora's thinking "who are these people? where's elmo?" and shelby was very into eating her churro and occasionally waving at the princesses, especially...
sleeping beauty! her favorite!
i'm partial to tinkerbell after watching all of her newest movies a gazillion times with shelby. she's sassy.
in all our years of disney travels, we have never gotten a turkey leg before, until now!
but we seriously got it just for the smallest member of our family!
she LOVED it!
cutie pie! she wanted pizza instead.
off to pizza planet!
though the boys all gnawed a little on the turkey too. it could feed a family of 4!
being the competitive family that we are, next was buzz lightyear! cora did great in the long line, though it helped that there were 8 adults who could hold her-though she only allows 4 of us!
naturally, trevor won, though we can't be totally positive because the picture with me, cora, and richard never showed up. so maybe cora won!
cute hat kortnie!
