first weekend away (not for me though)

on the weekend of march 26th, trevor "had" to go to my parent's beach house for a young men church activity. i was on my own! i called up my brother who lives 5 minutes away and he came over to hang out with his sister and cute nieces. what a cool uncle. don't you love his hip glasses? you can't wear them unless you know alot about music and of course he does. richard would like everyone to know that he liked the black keys and the kings of leon before they were popular. okay, everyone got that? and i would like everyone to know that i don't know who the black keys are, but i don't wear cool glasses and i also have 2 car seats in my honda pilot. knowing alot about music isn't my thing at the moment. but if you would like to know about the line-up of shows on nick jr. and bravo (my fave channel) then i am the person to talk to! anyways.
richard brought over tomatina's (yum) and we all watched how to train your dragon!
shelby was more than happy to tell him all about each dragon. i love that he is always up for holding cute cora and playing with shelby. my brother is such a catch! he is ridiculously good looking, sweet, funny, and all around awesome. his nieces love him so much. me too. this night reminded me of when we had pizza nights at my apartment during college and we would watch the o.c. together. we loved that show! we also watched the reality version, laguna beach. he's a good brother to have watched that stuff with me and to now watch kid movies with his nieces. though how to train your dragon isn't like g-force or strawberry shortcake the movie or something else painful. it's amazing actually.

oh, bonus, there was a big storm that weekend. actually most of the weekends this spring there was intense weather. it rained so much, and trevor was able to see the effects of the storm down at the beach in aptos. it was nuts!
sure was a crazy winter this year. (i sound like an old person.)
 but for real, it was.
the beach NEVER looks like this.
these pictures don't quite do it justice,
 but these trees were huge.
hello northern california beaches! not quite the sun bathing capital of the world.
