i am having a baby on friday! wow. not real. thank you for all of the encouragement about shared rooms. ;) the reason i am nervous is because i shared a room when shelby was born. luckily, my roommate, florence, was super nice! her c-section was the day before mine. both of us had failed inductions and we both had just had our first girls. it was fun to see her progress and know that i would feel better the next day because she did! she named her baby girl reese and she was very cute. i felt bad for them because when she cried it sounded like a dolphin in pain and reese also wouldn't nurse. while shelby barely cried and nursed like a gold medal champion. speaking of gold medals, the babies were born exactly in the middle of the summer olympics and so that was all we had on our shared tv. i was lucky, no having to watch daytime soap operas or two and half men or something terrible. i remember one night we were up with our girls, watching late night olympic coverage and pushing the nurses button for more vicodin. oh yeah. good times. both our babies had jaundice as well, so as new moms we could stress out together and visit our babies in their blue light beds. (husbands couldn't spend the night because of the shared rooms of course). she was truly the nicest! we've even emailed a few times since. and when she left a day before me i was so scared i would get someone terrible. i did, but it was only for a few hours. let's just say her husband was most definitely in a gang. oh and did i mention this hospital was in stockton? like way on the bad side of stockton. and you had to share a bathroom- with another shared room. and there were two showers for the maternity floor. it was like being in the dorms at deseret towers except you just had surgery and had a baby. oh and the hospital doesn't do epidurals, they do something called intrathecals. luckily i loved my doctor so much and the nurses were phenomenal, the food from the cafeteria that my mom brought to me was delicious, and my past experience will make valley care hospital here in pleasanton feel like the freaking four seasons.

and after looking back at this photo, i went straight to the salon on friday and got my roots taken care of. i wasn't going to make that mistake again!
need i remind you that we moved the day after i got home from the hospital?
shelby loves the swing and can't stop turning the music and the swing function on and off. please let that fun wear off before the baby comes home. the bassinet is all set up as well, and shelby puts a pillow in it and watches movies. cozy. all the newborn and 0-3 month clothes and blankets are washed and folded. (thanks jen) and my bag is packed. i still have to figure out the baby's going home outfit and oh, a name. we have 4 days, that's plenty of time! i also have shelby's present from the baby ready. trevor just has to wrap it.
and i can't sit still for very long. have to keep nesting. must keep nesting. nest nest nest.

good luck!!!!! At least your second child won't be born in America's most miserable city and you don't have to move again right?
