beach day

On our off-day from preschool, we drove to the beach house, but we took 101 and stopped at Gizdich Ranch so that grandpa rich could finally taste the fresh apple juice slush's they make there. They did not disappoint! The weather was unbelievable and we were practically the only ones there. It's like they made all the pies just for us! I had the berry apple dutch and dad had the apple dutch, and our slices were still warm from the oven. hungry yet? They make a great picnic lunch with surprisingly delicious sandwiches (we are very serious about our sandwiches and these have a perfect bread to filling ratio), fresh baked cookies, chips, and the famous apple slush. Just imagine freshly pressed apple juice in a super smooth slush. It's like a sonic slush times a million. I might be over-selling it. But my Dad did say that we have to come back during every trip to the beach house for the rest of our lives.

After our fantastic lunch, we all basked in the sun on the deck. It was such a great day! Cora took a nap, and Shelby set up a snack table. It's one of her favorite things to do.

Once the baby was up, we got on our sweatshirts and marched down to the almost deserted beach.

We tried to get the girls to take a picture in front of their names, but they were having too much fun!

My two kids, side by side: baby girl and big girl feet!

Cora fell in the water, which was inevitable. She didn't mind too much. Shelby was in her bathing suit the whole time but never got in the water luckily. It always amazes me how they can't feel cold. There wasn't any wind, so that helped. Grandma brought bread for the birds but we couldn't find any for once!

Grandma: "Where are the birds Cora?"

"Don't know! BIIIIIRRRRDS????? Where r uuuuuuu? All gone!"
"Don't know" is one of her favorite phrases. (The T is silent)

Grandpa, deep in thought.

mmmmm. sandy popcorn. Cora's favorite apparently. blech.

We found a bird!!!!

Here you go!

"HAHAHAHA! Seagull! I found you!!!" She gets very upset if you call a seagull a bird.
"No, Mama, Seagull."

"Bye-Bye Seagull! Bye!!!!! See you later!" (Another favorite phrase)

We ended our day with pizza and a peaceful drive home with two zonked out kids.
Thanks Mom and Dad! It was such a fun day!

Love the footprint pictures.

We used to pick berries growing up at Gizdich Ranch. Never been there for apple stuff though. Maybe we'll have to try it out.
