shelby still had school the day before thanksgiving. (yay!) the kids wore black pants with white shirts and made pilgrim hats. by the time i got there, only the three little blondes were left in class: briana, grace and shelby. they sure love their teachers! this one is miss sandra.
that is one cute pilgrim!
all the kids made turkeys and said what they were thankful for...lots of toys, and some, like my sweet girl, was thankful for their siblings. melt my heart why don't ya!
grandpa curtis and grandma kathi came into town early that day and beat the traffic. so we decided to go on a fun outing to the tech museum in san jose. it was like trevor's disneyland! we mostly went for the special mythbusters exhibit where you can try out some of their famous myths from the show.
there was lots for kids to do!
here trevor successfully slid the tablecloth out without any dishes falling off!
they had a rain chamber set up to test how wet you get from running or walking in the rain.
you could see the difference in the black lights.

shelby didn't like the rain, but she loved the lights!

i think the result was that running in the rain made you wetter than walking.

can a plane take off on a conveyer belt? yes it can!

self explanatory. and very difficult!

and there were more! plus tons of props and things from their other myth-busting adventures along with videos and fun facts. seriously, trevor was so happy.

they also had a live show run by the super nice staff.

the girls and i didn't even pretend that they would make it through a live show, so we stayed at the big, bad wolf station and tested that straw-wood-brick theory.

you build little houses and then put them in a little chamber that sends out a gust of wind.

it was super fun!

this was WAY harder than it looks!

the girls and i could have played with this floor forever.

i thought it was a good combination of kids and adult exhibits,

and there were even some things that started to hurt my brain after a while!

we refueled at pizza my heart, and as always, elmo helped us get through dining out.

peekaboo clean baby!

the next day we watched the thanksgiving day parade. i cried. i just love the parade so much!

a kitty came to visit our backyard and made cora's day.

shelby helped with the cooking.

she also said that she was grateful for these pink flowers and her sister again!

dinner time! sooo nice to finally have an area for a dining table!!!!

i am VERY thankful to be living in a bigger house now!

grandma kathi and shelby made cute turkeys to decorate too.

everyone pitched in on dinner. it was a family effort!

we ain't fancy and aren't ashamed to eat stove top and canned cranberry sauce!

as always, trevor made the best turkey i've ever tasted. every year it gets better!

we all have so much to be grateful for!
shelby and cora ate quickly and then shelby took over photographing duties:

she's the cutest.

before i finally got rid of our pumpkins, i had to document all of shelby's "decorations" on them!

then we quickly got into Christmas mode and things got crazy!

i can hear cora's hysterical laugh just by looking at these pictures.

the girls play together so well, mostly because shelby loves to make cora happy and play games with her or give her the toy she wants. and if shelby is sad, cora is super quick to say "she-she? sad?" and then go find her blanket or give her a hug.

their favorite game is holding a blanket together and then running in circles.
once again, i'm grateful to have more room in our house for games like this!

the girls were super wired after a fun day at home, so trevor and i popped them into the car, turned on Christmas music, and went for a drive. we looked at Christmas lights and at all of the crazy lines at stores around town. it was really fun and festive!
