san diego

we stayed at the rancho bernardo inn while in san diego.

 tevor said it was a fun course!

dad and trevor played with john, the san jose state golf coach (he can't wait for brett to get home from his mission and start playing for the team!) and justin wright, the pro at castlewood country club in pleasanton who also works part time in financial services with dad and trevor.  my awesome hubby  won the long drive contest as he does every year. but i still get excited!

the hotel and golf course was in the middle of a little retirement community.

it looked like a great place to live!

the girls loved our 3 bedroom suite! lots of space to spread out and play.

hey hotels: stop putting these kleenex dispensers at toddler level! i bet the maids see this all the time!

they had an awesome kids program, with daily scavenger hunts, prizes, and cool rooms for older and younger kids to hang out in and do projects or watch movies and play games! so after we got back from the beach we brought shelby down and since it was the end of august, she was the only kid there! a sweet college age girl was working there. shelby kept calling her the teacher. :) 

cora and i came back to get her about 45 minutes later with our bathing suits on. yay! oh and an apple. they have bowls of apples in the lobby and cora wanted a new one every time.

kids also get a wristband and they can take it into the cafe or restaurant and get free kid food! 

yay for the sandbox at the kid's pool! 

i love the retro look of this socal place. 

i couldn't get enough of them happily playing in the sand!

daddy met us there and grandma came to say hi too before their last meeting started. 

we loved our family swim time! 

all hail to the flotation device. 

guess we have some more things to pack after today! 

the next day we all put on our bright colors and headed to the airport. 

flying with grandma and her magic bag of books, toys, stickers, and snacks is the ONLY way to fly! 

on our way home we stopped at the ice creamery in castro valley for a bite to eat and obviously  ice cream oh and a mustache! shelby said it made her look eeeevil. heh heh heh.
