the week before valentine's day i got to work at preschool. always fun, but especially cute because shelby wanted pink pigtails that day!
the kids made their heart headbands that day too.
we finished our first batch of valentines early, but it was a difficult process because shelby did NOT want to give these away because they all had her name on them! well, it's true. that would be confusing! "but they say to shelby, i love you! waaaaaaah!"
she ended up deciding that these animal valentines were better anyway.
as she handed them out, she was very specific about who got which animal.
everything tastes better when it's shaped like a heart!
her blueberry for an eye patch joke just kept getting funnier.
i had saved candy canes from the holidays to make these fun hearts. they were broken in 5 seconds, but they looked really cool while melting in the oven!
the day before valentine's, trevor and i went on our big date to a brazilian restaurant recommended to us by the andrus family! thanks guys! it was awesome.
we practically had the place to ourselves.
oh boy. chocolate mousse and dulce de leche ice cream. divine.
and while we were gone, my mom sent the girls on family home evening scavenger hunt with uncle brett! i have the best babysitter!
when it came time to hand out her valentines, shelby was so excited. her favorite part was giving her teachers the disney princess chocolates that she picked out for them.
zoe and subdued shelby
sassy shelby and kyndal.
shelby either calls it i love you day or mother's day. can't go wrong with that! the rest of the afternoon was spent looking at her first class valentines. what fun!
though daddy was definitely her favorite valentine.
shhhhhh! no touching my blanket. where does she gets that bossy streak...
i love my daddy!
pretending he doesn't know how to hold a baby.
awww. her heart does belong to daddy.
my mom sent us all this fun stuff for love day.
yum.
shelby and i split the chocolate strawberries.
i like to pick out my own flowers, so we headed over to costco for some shopping and
fine dining.
there were other families there too and we all just smiled at each other, like hey! we have kids, it's valentines day, whatcha gonna do? we had a great time! i love my family.
