random festive things

typical shelby, caught in the middle of a couch-jumping session. she was just so darned excited about the pink lights that daddy let her bring home from target!

i love piiiiiink!

well they look serious. must have been talking about what we were getting for lunch maybe!

my second child is a big veggie fan just like her sister.

cucumbers are high on both of their lists!

in primary a few teachers, parents, and kids helped act out the nativity during sharing time. so fun!

great grandpa got this snoopy for cora in honor of great grandma barbara,
who loved snoopy so much. i cried a little when he talked about it.

i had bought her shirt because of great grandma a few months ago too. at great grandpa's house there are 40+ years old peanuts Christmas decorations that he still puts up! when we came to visit, grandpa had so much fun showing us all of his decorations.

like this one. probably over 50 years old.

and these! shelby had fun rearranging them for great grandpa.

my parents celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary this december. they are so cute!

mom and dad got new led decorations that were so efficient that they could leave them on all night!

the pink lights gave the tree a really beautiful, warm glow. shelby knows what she's doing.

sweet cora was my target buddy over the holidays. we hit that place hard.
especially the dollar aisle. hello stocking stuffers!

shelby picked out this little white, sparkly tree and wreath and the pink decorations for her room. the hello kitty ornaments were from hawaii. she re-decorated it every day.

shelby had been begging for a wreath for her door, and i kept putting her off about it. then one night i came upstairs and saw this! trevor had made this for her! isn't he the sweetest and craftiest dad in the world? he is definitely a man of many talents and a super cute daddy!

one of the things on shelby's random list of Christmas wants/demands was a dragon kite. this most likely came from an episode of ni hao kai lan. we weren't sure where we would find one, then while shopping in costco, shelby spotted one! hooray! Christmas was saved! we were somehow able to pry it from her fingers and hide it in the garage until Christmas day. it was truly a Christmas miracle!
