on
a beautiful, bright, sunny friday shelby's little preschool class sang
some Christmas songs for the parents, that's us! wow! we're so old!
here they are on their little mats, 9 out of the 10 kids in class. (shelby's bff kyndal was sick.)
let's do this! we had about 4 cameras going.
twinkle twinkle little star was the opening number.
looking good!
the kids around her are anvi, justin, natalie, and ryan, for future reference.
then it was time for we wish you a merry Christmas!
little greyson refused to stand up or sing. that poor mother she....
oh hold on. looks like i'm in the same boat!
so
shelby stayed in this position for the next song as well. i know she
she knew all the songs because she had been singing them to me for
weeks. but trevor said my hysterical laughter probably didn't help. it's
all on camera folks. you can hear the kids singing, mostly just ryan,
the short kid in the front, the click of my canon camera, and my
laughing my head off. you can't see it from this angle, but her butt
crack was also showing. so the parents on the other side of the room got
a treat on their cameras!
but then...it was time for jingle bells! the cute little bells they had made absolutely saved the day!
you
can't see it from here because miss devon is blocking him, but another
little boy in the class, connor, spent a couple songs rolling around on
the ground and smiling at his mom. they are only 3 years old after all.
hooray it's over!
and now the grand finale!
presents for mom and dad! shelby made sure to open it up to check that it still looked good. :)
shelby
told me later that night that she didn't want to sing because it was
super scary and that she is "very shy." i don't really think "shy"
always describes her, but even when she wants to order mac and cheese
and chili's she says it so quietly and then hides from the waiter.
but she still is the cutest 3 year old on the planet.
no shoes sally. she is lucky we live in california.
yay! cora loved the show.
shelby showed off her walking stick insect friends to grandma and uncle richard.
cora, will you sing in a preschool performance? we'll see!
proud daddy.
she wasn't shy when she got the chance to give a tour of her classroom!
trevor is giving me a look right here! i think it means "enough pictures already."
dad
is holding the package oh so carefully because it was full of glitter
and would have stuck to his black ensemble like crazy! i was so excited
for her first handmade school Christmas ornament! we went home and put
it right on the tree.
on
a side note, i saw this picture of leighton meester on the set of
gossip girl not long after shelby's performance. go mom! what style you
have! blair wishes she could look like you. now if only i looked like
serena! mom and i would be quite the pair.
