good times were had at great grandpa's, as always. 

the valley has the best clouds.

shelby loves to play in the dirt. at least she's wearing shoes!

cora really needs to take the time to stop and smell the roses and the daisies. 

 

mom has lots of fun memories from grandpa's front yard, such as...

playing with her second granddaughter and...

holding her daughter! that's me! mom you've hardly changed at all in the past 28+ years! and oh boy do my babies look like me. don't you think?

grandpa really wanted to make us dinner. it was such a country guy meal. he bbqed up some hot dogs, got some fresh strawberries from the fruit stand down the road, and

made some of his famous macaroni salad. i could eat it every day.

i love that grandpa has this sand box always clean and ready for miss shelby even though we are only there twice a month. nothing makes him happier than seeing his granddaughters happily playing.

he's just a soft hearted guy. look at this tray that he put up underneath the swallows' nest so that the baby birds don't fall out! he has nests in his garage as well and they go flying around his yard all day. we always look to see if the babies have learned to fly yet. and even though he yells at them to "go back to capastrano why don't you!" we know he doesn't really mind.
