chevy's shower

so, my sweet friends from church wanted to do a baby shower. i didn't want them to stress or anything so i suggested that we make it a girls night out dinner at one of my favorite places to eat, chevy's. since it was just before valentine's day, they did a cute red and pink theme. i took this picture and as you can see, lauren got right up and took my camera away! she took the rest of the pictures. some flattering, some not, but all fun!

my gorgeous cousin Christa came to the shower too, i can only hope to look like her someday. 4 kids christa. seriously, i know i say it all the time, but still. wow. 

here is cute cassidy, mom to a little one year old girl named cleo.

and the two darling michelles. michelle hilton is mom to 3, almost 4 boys, and michelle morley has an 8 month old girl named adele.

you look extra cute in this picture miss hilton! 

it was a casual thing, some ordered food, some just came to hang out for a bit.

i loved it! 

it was nice to have some time to catch up.

here are tiffany, bonnie, and kirsten. kirsten was nice enough to put the whole thing together and send the evites. and i found out later she was sick earlier in the day and still managed to come and hide it from me. you are too much kirsten! bonnie is our awesome primary president. she has given me a couple of months of "maternity leave" from my calling,  because she didn't want to release me from being secretary. it made me feel so good! 

here's jen and anne, two gorgeous brunettes. jen has a little 17 month old named olivia and one on the way, and anne has a 6 year old named hunter and a 2 year old named grace! shelby likes playing with grace in nursery. 

and here are lauren and jen! because lauren is so awesome, she already has her 2 month old boy on a perfect schedule! amazing. and jen is one of our few neighbors out here at the end of the ward boundary. 

here i am opening tiffany's handmade gift! she knitted that hat. no kidding. go to tippy toppers to see them up close. they are so soft. shelby stole this one and loves wearing it around the house and hooting.

here's a fun fact about tiffany. she is trevor's cousin! and she was in our ward for months before we figured it out. her grandpa and trevor's grandma are brother and sister. so tiffany's little 6 month old daughter reese and our little girls share great great grandparents! pretty cool! p.s. trevor is sooo mormon  that he doesn't even know all his cousins. granted, they are second cousins. but still. i only have 2 first cousins and i definitely know all of my second cousins. :)

anne knew my weakness and got me cute things from baby gap, in yellow! 

it's like my kryptonite!

anne is not a fan of pink and she always has her daughter grace in the cutest non-pink clothes. i was happy to get some variety!

michelle is the best and prettiest visiting teacher ever. :)

 my friend chantalle had to leave before we could get a picture, but she left this awesome home sewn gift.

here i am explaining it to christa, or maybe she is explaining it to me? but it's a car seat cover. super cute. i always wanted one with shelby. i just used a blanket or whatever. it was august so i didn't need it except for shade!

michelle hilton got me the most useful gift, diapers! as a mother of soon to be 4, she knows what i really need! she hates the smell of pampers and was nice enough to still get them for me! i'm a pampers mom. :) i loved seeing how tiny the little diapers were! i forgot!

everyone tried to stay interested in the gifts. :) usually in our ward we have a tradition of handing out the baby gifts to everyone and we each open one for the mom of honor. that way she gets a break and everyone stays involved. it's really fun. but since mine was a small shower, i got to open my own gifts! :) but for large showers, it really is a great way to do gift opening.

cassidy got baby girl a darling outfit with a matching headband she made. i was ecstatic to finally be the owner of a luhloo headband!!! they are the cutest.

bonnie got the cutest target bathing suit. can't wait until she's big enough!

michelle morley was nice enough to get shelby a cute sticker book. 

and new baby girl a cute skirt and matching shoes. i love this stuff!

lauren, again. thanks for these pictures. anyway, so yellow=kryptonite. kirsten actually said that yellow reminds her of shelby/me, so she had to get this cute and soft towel.

and she got these cute pink shoes for baby girl too! i die.
