the $2 zoo

we visited micke grove zoo during our weekly trip to visit the great grandparents.

this capuchin was a definite highlight. he jumped over to see us and kept tilting his head and smiling at us.

no kidding! it was so cute and

shelby thought he was hilarious.

we were excited because the lorikeet exhibit was open!

you can buy little cups of nectar and then they land on you and drink it up.

or so we had heard. the zoo was a little busy so i think the lorikeets were full when we got in there.

shelby didn't like it very much, so grandma was left to give out the nectar.

at least she got to feed a couple of them!

they were absolutely beautiful birds.

they were also very loud squawkers and shelby got a little overwhelmed

so she started playing with her belly button to feel better. :)

we left the lorikeets to squawk on and visited the other rest of the little place.

it was so fun. it's such a perfect size zoo for an almost two year old.
