work stuff

here it is. this is the reason that we came to florida. trevor and i worked up on the fifth floor, right where richard works now. it really is a beautiful building.

they look out over this little lake and the boardwalk. it is a great place for a little break-time walk and for nature viewing.

and of course, an alligator or two. once we saw one try to eat a turtle and trevor saw one almost get a duck. they are super scary and it is so exciting to see one just out in the wild like that! shelby loved it.

it was so fun to be back in the building and see our former co-workers and introduce them to shelby. here's a photo i took of my cubicle 3 years ago! i wanted to remember what i stared at for a year. it was an awesome experience to work there. here are some reasons: i learned stuff, it definitely made the show "the office" way funnier, i got to hang out with trevor at work everyday, and i now have a bunch of horrible boss stories. by a happy coincidence my former boss was out the week we were there so i didn't have to see her!!! hooray! yup, even 3 years later i still am not interested in seeing my old boss. no thank you. i would rather change poopie diapers forever than work for her again!

the best part was that i got to see my best florida friend and former cube-mate heather caplin! she and i were quite a team, she was the graphic designer (and still is) and i was the writer so we worked on everything together. and we got to share a double cubicle and talk about american idol and she is the reason i kept sane while working in the corporate world! i miss her alot so it was awesome to spend a little time and for her to see shelby in person instead of just in blog form. and this picture was taken 3 years ago! of course i didn't take any pictures while we were just there.

and  because i know heather checks the blog sometimes, here is a photo from dress-up week at work 3 years ago! the theme was hollywood so we dressed up as the jailed friends paris and nicole. trust me that it was funny three years ago! see the dogs in our purses and our big glasses? oh, and bonus, like no one else dressed up for that theme day. we didn't care.

one of our former co-workers opened a place called "planet jump" while we lived there. but since we didn't have kids we never had a reason to go! so it was awesome to see our friend tim and for shelby to see lighting mcqueen!

she loved the slides so much. and then she said she was ready to go to disneyworld!

so, after dad finished his meetings and shelby finished her grand tour, mom, dad, brett, and shelby headed for orlando. trevor, richard, and i stayed behind and went to trevor's favorite restaurant on earth, Salt Rock Grill. our friend and former co-worker derek also came along and brought his two cute kids. it was an adventure and the food was awesome as always!
