because shelby is a crawling fanatic, we finally gave in and put up a single baby gate. 
it is up in the loft.
i would love gates at the top and bottom of our stairs as well, but axel the kitty would get stuck and also it would be a pain in the rear for us to have to open and shut the little gates every time we went up and downstairs! i think there are ones with kitty doors, but we couldn't find any. oh well. the baby gate makes me feel like such a mommy. it's cute.

She is the happiest, cutest prisoner I have ever seen! Her striped pajamas are very fitting as well.
